Boy Scout Troop aids

in fire safety/prevention

Recently a local neighboring Boy Scout troop contacted the Coatesville Fire Department to assist them in a safety project. Assistant Chief Kevin Johnson assisted the scouts in planning and installing smoke detectors in the Carl Benner Elementary School and the Gordon Middle School. The school administration and principals were contacted and their approval was given to go ahead with the project. Once approved, the scouts devised a plan for implementation and installation. The Coatesville Fire Department donated the smoke detectors and the scouts provided the labor for installation.
