Lt 41 arrived and reported heavy fire showing from the middle of the row of an unoccupied dwelling. Upon arrival the first in engine dropped a supply line and Captain 41 entered the adjacent structure to perform a primary search. On arrival information was given of possible vagrants trapped in the adjacent vacant building and the assignment was upgraded to possible entrapment. No victim were found and the second vacant dwelling soon became fully involved upon Captain 41's exit. The fire originated in a vacant dwelling which collapsed early into the fire. The fire traveled across the rear and common cock loft of the entire row in a westerly fashion and involved 7 different dwellings at once. The original fire building, which was a middle unit of a row of 14. Crews from CFD and surrounding companies stopped the spread of the fire eastward but lost all 7 units to the west (original direction of fire spread). Multiple alarms were struck in an effort to assist initial crews with the large task in front of them.
